Kellen Hobie returns to Challengers

Kellen Hobie returns to the Bi-Mart Eugene Challengers coaching staff in 2018.

Hobie is a 2002 graduate of North Eugene High School and played for the Challengers in 2002 and 2003, primarily as a center fielder. He also played at Lane Community College in 2004 and 2005 and was first-team all-Southern Region outfielder in 2005. In 2006 and 2007, he played at Missouri Western State University.

He coached the 2012 Challengers state championship team and served as head coach of the Withnell Dodgers the following season. In 2010 – 2011 he was an assistant coach at Western Oregon University working with outfielders and hitters. As an assistant coach with the Medford Mustangs from 2014 – 2016, the team won three state championships and had one World Series appearance. Last season he was an assistant coach with the Portland Barbers.

He’s the current head coach at Sheldon High School and a PE teacher at Madison Middle School.
